To provide or secure the provision of public amenities in Garvagh
To preserve for the benefit of the public, land, buildings or other structures in Garvagh of particular beauty or historical or architectural interest
To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Garvagh and the neighbourhood by the advancement of education and the provision of facilities for social welfare, recreation and leisure
Garvagh and District Development Association was formed in 1995 after a public meeting was called to obtain local views concerning the formation of a community group. It was agreed at the conclusion of the meeting that a group be formed and a committee was elected. The committee established a registered charity, Garvagh Development Trust, to develop the community project. The objectives of the Trust are:

A survey of the views of local individuals and groups clearly established a desire to establish:
A neutral venue
A focus of economic regeneration
Adequate facilities for groups in the area
A venue for educational activities
